Thesis abstract

The project proposes the development of a multi-regional energy model that incorporates social indicators, which is a significant gap in the current literature and models [5]. The general research objective is to “Develop a multinodal energy model including sociodemographic indicators for Colombia, through the collection of structured and unstructured information and the implementation of computational tools simulating scenarios, in order to measure the impact of including social indicators in energy planning decision-making.” With this, four specific objectives are proposed within the research framework.

Personal interest in my research theme

My personal interest in this research is to find a way to give relevance to the problems experienced in the communities in order to convert them into indicators that can be taken into account for making energy transition decisions in developing countries. Among my interests is also the fact of learning how energy systems work at national scale and the approach to try to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases in the future always taking into account the participation of all actors in the decision making process.
