Thesis abstract

The objective of my research is to identify the potential of adsorption-based processes for post-combustion CO2 capture and to optimize these processes to reduce their overall cost. Compared to the state-of-the-art processes for CO2 capture with adsorbents, where the CO2 compression unit follows the sorption-based CO2 separation section, the research will consider the integration of the sorption system with the CO2 purification unit and the systematic optimization of the overall integrated system.

Personal interest in my research theme

I am a strong advocate of climate change, carbon net neutrality and carbon capture technologies. Therefore, I am very happy to work on adsorption based carbon capture technologies. This research field is not only providing me the opportunity to expand my knowledge on carbon capture systems and novel optimization techniques but is also helping me understand the economic and legislative nuances of the global transition to zero carbon technologies.
